Minerals
Minerals are essential nutrients that are categorised as macronutrients or trace elements, depending on how much of them are present in the body and how much is needed. Most of them are found in the bones, but the functioning of the muscles and nervous system also depends on an adequate supply of calcium and magnesium. Potassium, on the other hand, is particularly important for normal blood pressure, while zinc supports the immune system and fertility in both women and men.
